- It’s been a brilliant and crazy few weeks since I started the MA. Not only did I start at Uni, but my youngest started school, I continue to work as an interpreter and we continue to have work done in the house. It’s been so much fun though – except using a camping stove for 6 weeks… I’m a little bit over that now.
I wanted to touch base and let you know of the two exhibitions I am in over the next few weeks. The first is the wonderful Feminism in London conference this weekend which is holding an Art exhibition throughout the two day conference. The venue is amazing and I am gutted that I can’t actually attend myself. Here is the link to the art in the conference Artists at FIL 2015 I am exhibiting a floor piece this year that is part of a process I am working on looking at language, meaning and self.
The other exhibition I am involved with is at the UCA and is titled ‘Rethinking the body’ and will be in the Elaine Thomas Library from 1st November until 1st December. I was allowed some wonderful access to the archives at UCA to give me some inspiration. This led me on a wonderful few weeks of research and location hunting, burying my head in the Royal Bethlam hospital archives, filming in front of several major institutions and scootering around London (is it scootering or scooting..?). The culmination so far is a series of video clips…. But I will tell you more about that once the exhibition opens!
Today is also the opening of the NOA exhibition at the Royal College of Art. My Animated video to The Glass Child’s beautiful single Yesterday was selected for their first ever moving image gallery here.
That’s all for me today. Have a wonderful creative weekend!
